PROJECT
PROCESS
In comparison to some industries, design management processes are relatively ill defined.
Over the years we have found the stages outlined opposite work regardless of the size and complexity of the task.
Take any stage away at your peril!
1 Identify/ define the task
Why, what, how, cost / benefit, risk.
Set the design brief, tasks deliverables and responsibilities
2 Review design resources
What Internal resources are available to manage and or outsource you creative task
3 Review proposals & commission
Agree terms, deliverables, deadline
4 Design concepts
Review initial ideas, agree amends, assess budget and timeline
5 Design refinement
Make amends , perfect & test
6 Prototype / preview / Proof
Test the concept before committing to large scale application
7 Implement / print / build
make any final amends then roll out
8 Assess / amend
Review the result. Learn and amend for the next project
If everyone is thinking alike... then someone isn't thinking.
